More Little Temptations

With thy Needle and Thread is coming out with twelve little monthly quick stitch patterns. October will be available in a week or so. The others are due the first of each preceding month.

I just ordered October - my favorite month. Will decide on the others when I see the cost.

Just thought you'd like to know...

More Info on La D Da Mystery Sampler

For those of you who haven't seen the Attic Needlework Newsletter (I doubt that this means anyone who will read this), here is some additional information on La D Da's Margaret Cottam Sampler:

Three part, beginning in mid October, then in November and December.  The bottom section will be first.  DON'T FORGET TO START AT THE BOTTOM!!  Size is 170W x 200H.  It is stitched on Weeks 30 count cocoa, but of course that is up to you.  The pattern calls for 8 skeins of WDW; the colors won't be announced before the sampler's release.  Attic will choose silk overdyes once they know the threads.

FYI Attic will cut the fabric in the following sizes, so you can begin looking through your stash to see what you have that might work:  30/32 count, 17.5 x 19.5"; 35/36 count, 15.5 x 17.5"; 40 count, 13.5 x 16".  Can't we ever stitch things that will fit on smaller bars?

I hope the next BBD LF segment comes early enough that I can finish that before La D Da shows up in October.  These gals know how to suck us in, don't they?!

Happy stitching.

Mystery Sampler from La D Da

As noted in the previous post,
it seems a bunch of us are in the mood for yet another three part mystery sampler SAL.
Carol is ordering now and, as with the previous two,
would like to know if you are interested in the threads and fabric too.  http://www.thecraftyewe.net/new_at_the_ewe.html

I currently have the Birds of a Feather still in progress
I am awaiting the second part
of the BBD Summer Loose Feathers mystery,
due out in September sometime.

Why not start another...part one won't be out until October.
Sounds like good timing to me.
I think it looks like it will be autumn colors.
The sampler was inspired by an early 1800's piece
stitched by Margaret Cottam, age 9.

Idea for next project for group

I was wondering if we wanted to continue this group with a new sampler project with La- D - DA?
It is a three part sampler series. Just an idea.

Birds of a Feather - Red Variety

Here are a couple of photos of our third finish - Rose's cardinals, designed and colors chosen by her.  Wonderful, as always.  Contratulations, Rose.  Remember, "Imitation is the dearest form of flattery!"

Beautifully captured Cardinals - Ohio's State Bird

Details of her little house with an original roof.
I noticed Rose liked to design her own home exteriors
while stitching Anniversaries of the Heart.
Nice finish.
The color isn't the greatest in this photo.

Third Finish

We have at least three finishes now. Rose has completed her mystery...and found cardinals in her tree. I'll try to post a picture of it in a couple of days.

The other day at The Ewe we saw one of the Birds of a Feather samplers all stretched and pinned and ready to be framed. It really looked nice. I asked to see the chosen frame, just for the heck of it, but it hand't come in yet.
