Anyone Working On A Scarlet Letter Sampler?

Are any of you working on a Scarlet Letter sampler,
have one in your WIPs, or thinking about stitching one soon?

If you can answer yes to any of these questions,
or even if you can't,
why not consider joining in what has turned out to be a huge stitching event
here in blog land.

Nicola, a very accomplished stitcher
with a beautiful B&B and a beautiful blog,
turned 50 this year and is having what has turned out to be
a really big celebration in blog land!

Take a look at her blog and link to the two participation blogs shown.
The first one filled (100 participants) really quickly.
The second one (I was just accepted into today) is filling fast.
There are drawings, shared information about stitching,
and, of course lots of eye candy from stitchers around the globe.
Hope someone will join me here.

Happy Stitching!

I've Seen Some Fun Projects in Progress Lately

So, what is everyone working on?

How are you coming on Lauren's Mistress L's sampler?  I know some haven't started yet; some have a small start (me, for one); some are doing fairly well; and some are doing very well.  I will definitely have many new photos of this piece to share with you next month.

I have been stitching on the Attic Needlework's 2013 SAL, The Ann Bowers Sampler from The Examplarery.  I am in line with the February schedule so far, which is a victory for me.  Hope I don't stray too far from Ann.  I changed three colors in her, and am liking what I am doing very much. I became slightly obsessed with this sampler over the past month when it has been very cold and/or very snowy.  I also joined NetFlix at the same time so I can watch all the popular series like Downton Abbey, House of Cards (BBC and NetFlix versions, etc.)  The TV watching is great company with the stitching, or vice versa. Photos of Ann to come soon.

Yesterday I went up to Perrysburg, Ohio to stitch with some friends of ours.  Lots of stitching, chitchat, laughter...a really fun day.  Some of us walked to Thrush's Baking Store/Bakery and to a wonderful yarn shop, Yarn Cravin', after lunch.  I hurried through the baking store despite the fact that it was VERY interesting, in order to get to the yarn shop.  Got into some trouble there, but I have done a lot of knitting since October, so I thought that effort was worth it.  I'm still only knitting scarves, but they are much fancier scarves now.  Would love to have a shop like this one locally.  There were a bunch of women in there knitting or crocheting.  I'm not sure whether they were in classes or just a knit along type thing.

Hope to hear from some of you, despite the fact that this blog has been severely neglected.  Please post a comment or a separate post if you can, or email me a photo of what you are up to so I can post your picture for you.

Be back soon...

Photos From Robin L.

I received these photos from Robin today via email as she could not post them directly to the blog.

These are so exciting!  As you read in the previous post, she has been a vert busy and dedicated woman.

Here are her amazing recent photos to prove part of this:

Look at Robin's progress on Lauren's Mistress L Sampler.
You have been very busy; I have only stitched about 1/4 of that.
Beautiful, Robin.

Robin's work on the recent Merry Cox Project...
I think from Williamsburg in December!
Amazing.
Beautiful work Robin.  Thanks for sharing.

Happy New Year to everyone!

I am on row 21 of Lauren's beautiful sampler.  Took a quick break over Christmas and actually finished my Merry Cox piece from Christmas in Williamsburg.  Will show pics as soon as I can get some.  I actually finished the Merry Cox project due to a small break in college teaching and  my dissertation. I sure could get a lot more stitching done if I didn't teach and finished my dissertation.  LOL

Completed 15 interviews for my dissertation, need 20.  Hope to catch up with the final ones next week.  Say good thoughts and prayers that I get this done soon.

Hope everyone has a wonderful new year!

Robin

Hi, Long Lost Stitching Friends.

Happy New Year from your long lost stitching/blogging friend.

OK, enough of this totally ignoring my blogs.  This one is the first I have come to to try to revive again, because we have had so many wonderful samplers and other projects come our way since the last post on this poor little blog.  I probably won't have time to post any pix today, but wanted to try to get some activity going here.

I know some of my close buds and I have been in kind of a stitching low gear lately.  Too many other activities have taken some of our precious time like the holidays, playing with new iPads, knitting, etc.  I am looking at starting a couple of quilt projects in the near future...something I haven't done for about 8 years.  It's just hard to find all the time and energy.

Many of my local friends and members of Western Reserve Sampler Guild took Lauren Sauer's class in November for her big 2012 sampler which she calls, "Mistress L's Sampler of Bands, Emblems & Motifs".  It is a beauty.  Something like 36 inches long.  Oh my!  I have made a pathetic start on it, but I've heard that some friends...maybe Kim, Robin, to name a few... have had much more success with their starts.  We would love to hear from you, and better yet, see your photos here.  Please post.  Please email me to request "permission" to be able to create your own posts and include your pictures here if you want to do more than comment.

I know Linda was planning to start a big new sampler on January 1 with some of her Canton area friends and the Ellen Chester SAL.  Please tell us who that we know is joining you in this SAL and if you did get started.

A couple of us had been going full steam ahead on the Dorothy Walpole Sampler, but for various reasons have stumbled on that.  I really hope to get back to Dorothy very soon.

What else is happening?  Let us know.

Happy 2013.

How is everyone?  I am so excited I finished stitching my spotted hare purse by Sheri Jones.  Now to find time to finish.  It was such a fun stitch.  Anyone else finished?

What's everyone doing?

Hi Bobbi,

How are you doing? Has anyone completed their pre-stitching for Sherri's class? I actually have a few panels done. Hope everyone is having a good year.
